A kettle boiling over the fire and all the kin gathering
around – soup is the archaic icon of food since millennia. Soup
is warming and reviving, never to heavy, actually a way of slimming
if you want, still more nutritious than any french fry or Burger.
Soup is global – the simplest and most diverse food we know. Soup
is as local as can be. Soup is the oldest and most modern way of
eating.
We sell soup as “fast food” for lunch in our four
e outlets in Berlin:Kurfürstendamm 66, Kurfürstendamm224,
Alexanderplatz, Checkpoint
Charlie. Of course, it is actually “Slow food”, with a broth
that had been simmering for a couple of hours, freshly chopped legumes
and herbs, carefully prepared this morning in our kitchen. No convenience
ingredients, no additives, no flavor enhancers and the like.
A bowl of soup goes over the counter in seconds, and
yet, you will take your time to eat it, spoon by spoon, blowing
to cool it and enjoying the odor, a reminiscent of childhood or
a souvenir of a journey. You will be refreshed in summer and warmed
up in winter, satiated for quite a while and energized. Well, after
all, its just a soup… and we simply know how to make it. Soup had
been a hype in London and New York and other places for a while.
We don’t think of it as a fashion. It is a healthy habit, and Soupkultur
maintains it now since ten years.
We also offer catering
services, which has actually become our main business over the years.
There we serve much more than soup and offer full service for any
events and number of people. We do it the same way we are preparing
our soups: With great care and fresh ingredients, taking our time
and making sure our customers will feel at home with what we serve
them.
